About Morris Meadows
Early in the 1900’s, George Morris immigrated from Nottingham England and purchased a quarter section of land from the Canadian Pacific Railroad for the grand sum of one hundred and sixty dollars ($160).
The sale came with conditions of improvement that were performed over a period of time. One hundred years later that quarter section of land remains in the Morris family.
Today, George’s son, Sid Morris lives there and the land is known as Morris Meadows. With his love of the farm country he grew up in, Sid believed others who did not experience this rural upbringing would appreciate the opportunity that this facility can offer. The property provides a beautiful tranquil setting where you can enjoy weddings, family reunions, business meetings, corporate retreats, craft events and many other gatherings. Morris Meadows has preserved those early days of rural farming communities in the construction of the premises. The interior of the lodge contains memorabilia from the early days of the local farming community, both in pictures and articles. The lodge also reflects the elegance of modern day rural life while not forgetting it's past.
